The Instrument Rating (IR) allows pilots to fly safely in clouds, low visibility, and adverse weather conditions. This advanced training builds on Private Pilot skills, teaching you to rely on instruments for navigation and control. With an IR, you can file IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) flight plans, expand your flight opportunities, and increase safety and confidence in all conditions.
To enroll in Instrument Rating training, students must meet these requirements:
Hold at least a current Private Pilot License (or be concurrently pursuing one)
Read, speak, write, and understand English
Hold a current FAA Medical Certificate
